VII.Participation Requirements

1.Age requirements

1)Full-marathon participants must be over 20 years old (born before December 31, 1999).

2)Half-marathon participants must be over 16 years old (born before December 31, 2003). For participants under 18 years old, their guardians or legal representatives shall sign the participant declaration.

3)There is no age limit for Mini Leisure Running, but participants under 12 years old (born after December 31, 2007) must be accompanied by their guardians.

4)Participants over 65 years old must have a physical examination certificate signed by one of their immediate family members.

2.Physical requirements

1)As marathon is an intense, long-distance, high-risk competitive sport, runners must be healthy and have been running regularly. Participants may sign up for one event according to their physical conditions and abilities.

2)People with the following diseases or physical conditions should not participate in the race:

(1)Congenital or rheumatic heart disease

(2)Hypertension or cerebrovascular diseases

(3)Myocarditis or other heart diseases

(4)Coronary artery disease or severe arrhythmia

(5)Diabetes with hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia

(6)Cold caught within two weeks before the competition day

(7)Pregnancy

(8)Other diseases deemed to be unfit for sports

3)Participants must have a physical examination at a registered medical institution to assess whether they are fit enough for the race. Participants shall bear all responsibility for personal injuries and property damage during the race due to physical or other personal reasons.

3.Qualification requirements

All participants must sign up and check in with a second-generation ID card or other valid documents that can prove their identity and age.

4.Race requirements

1)Participants who finish the race before the closing time can show their number bibs to get their finisher medals.

2)Participants should store their personal belongings at the designated area as required. Do not put valuables, such as cell phones, valid ID, cash, credit cards, keys, and tablet PCs, in their bags. Participants can claim their personal belongings at the designated area before 16:00 on the race day. Participants who fail to claim their belongings on time on the race day may contact the Event Committee by e-mail or phone (as shown on the official website) within five workdays. After five workdays, the belongings will be deemed unclaimed and disposed of by the Event Committee.

 

VIII.Competition Rules

1.The competition shall use the CAA's newly approved Track and Field Competition Rules.

2.All participants must go to the designated area to check in with their valid ID from 6:00 to 7:15 a.m. on the competition day. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to participate in the competition.

3.Assembly Methods

Participants will go to designated assembly areas based on their best ever full-marathon or half-marathon results recorded in any "A-class races" registered with www.runchina.org.cn, which were held between December 1, 2016 and December 1, 2018.

4.Order: The race starts upon a single shot of the starting gun.

5.Closing distance and time (subject to the gun time) 

To ensure a safe and smooth race, a closing time will be set at each section along the route. All closed sections will reopen for traffic after the closing time ends. If a participant fails to finish a section before the specified closing time, he/she must quit the race immediately and leave the course to avoid danger. Participants who quit the race can take the shelter car arranged by the Event Committee to the corresponding finish points.

1.Full and Half Marathon use a sensing system for timing (net timing). All participants must wear the sensor chip as required. Timing mats will be placed at the start line, checkpoints, and the finish line. The participants must move across each timing mat along the course. If a participant misses any of the timing mats, his/her results will be canceled. The timing chips, which are disposable and will not be recycled, will be distributed before the race together with the number bibs. Please refer to the participants' guide on how to wear the chip correctly.

2.There will be video surveillance at the start line, the finish line, and all sections along the course. If a participant violates the following rules, the participant will be disqualified and barred from participating in the Yancheng Marathon for two years, and his/her personal information will be entered into the sign-up identification system. Serious violators will be reported to the CAA for further disciplinary action.

1)The participant signs up with a false age or the participant is substituted by a pinch runner after the sign-up.

2)The participant wears a timing chip that belongs to another participant or the participant wears two or more timing chips during the race.

3)The participant starts running at a non-designated area without following the starting order.

4)The participant jumps the gun without following the starting order.

5) The participant keeps running after the closing time or returns to the course after quitting the race.

6)The participant finishes the race without following the specified routes, or takes shortcuts or vehicles to overtake other participants.

7)The participant does not wear the right number bib as required when crossing the finish line.

8)The participant claims souvenirs at the finish line without finishing the race.

9)The participant refuses to follow the guidance of the staff, disturbs the race, or starts a riot or fight.

10)The participant claims rewards repetitively at the finish line;

11)The participant forges number bibs and finishes the race in relays.

12)The participant engages in other behavior that violates the competition rules.

 

IX.Ranks and Awards

1.Full Marathon

1)Rank Award: The top three men and women participants by the gun time will receive their medals at the podium (gold, silver, and bronze medals). The male and female participants of 4th-8th places by the chip time will also receive awards. The specific award standards are shown in the following table (unit: RMB).

2.Half Marathon

3.Mini Leisure Running

Participants in the Mini Leisure Running will not be ranked and their results will not be recorded. Participants who finish the race within the set time will receive a finisher certificate and a finisher medal.

Notes:

1.An eligible participant will be granted either a ranking award for Chinese participants or the full marathon ranking award, whichever prize is higher. The vacated rank will not be filled.

2.Any participant who finishes the race within the set time will receive a finisher medal.

3.Participants who finish the race can log on to the official website to check their results and print their certificate after the race.

4.The top three male and female participants of the Full Marathon and Half Marathon (except the ranking awards for Chinese participants) will be awarded a gold medal (gold-plated silver, worth about RMB 1,500), a silver medal (pure silver, worth about RMB 800), and a bronze medal (pure bronze, worth about RMB 400), respectively.

5.In accordance with China's tax law, the Event Committee will deduct a personal income tax amounting to 20% of each prize.

6.Prizes will not be presented on site. The results of all prize winners will be publicized on the official website for 15 workdays. If there are no objections to the publicized results, the prizes will be presented within 60 workdays from the date when the results are confirmed. Participants who have taken a drug test need to wait until the test results are announced. If there are any objections to the publicized results, and the objection still exists after the results have been re-checked, the corresponding rank will be disqualified and the vacated rank will not be filled.

7.Prize winners shall submit a valid bank card account number, a copy of their ID document with their signature, and contact information to the Event Committee Office before claiming their prizes. Otherwise, they will be deemed as abstaining from collecting their award money (excluding those who have taken the drug test).

 

X.Sign-up Methods

1.According to the rules of the marathon race and the requirements of the registration instructions, participants need to sign up from February 1 until 18:00 on March 15 on the official website of the Dayang Bay Yancheng Marathon (www.jsyc-marathon.com). At the same time, they must pay the sigh-up fee to the Event Committee (RMB 120 per person for Full Marathon, RMB 90 per person for Half Marathon, and RMB 50 per person for Mini Leisure Running).

2.The fees could be paid through Alipay, WeChat, or other payment channels. Full Marathon and Half Marathon use disposable timing chips, so participants do not need to pay a deposit for the chip.

3.Participants may claim their event packages and guides at the designated place with their finisher certificates, physical examination reports (either one for Half Marathon), and original valid certificates used for sign-up.

 

XI.Insurance & Medical Service

1.The Event Committee will provide insurance for all participants and staff during the race. The insurance policy will accord with the sign-up information. If a participant fails to be insured because of any incorrect information submitted during sign-up, the participant will be held solely responsible.

2.First aid points will be set up at the start line, the finish line, and along the course. Ambulances, medical workers, and volunteers will be deployed at each point to provide free medical service. Participants may ask for help at any time if they feel unwell.

3.To ensure participants' safety, referees and staff authorized by the Event Committee have the right to terminate the participation of any participants who are apparently unfit to continue the race.

 

XII.The Chinese Athletics Association (CAA) will appoint the technical officials of the event, and the Yancheng Marathon Event Committee will appoint the arbitrators, chief referees, and referees.

 

XIII.The Yancheng Marathon Event Committee reserves the right to the final interpretation of these Rules and Regulations. Matters not covered herein are subject to further notices.
